Native to California, Deergrass (Muhlenbergia rigens) is one of the region’s most resilient bunchgrasses. It adapts easily to both dry and irrigated conditions, forming symmetrical mounds of slender blades that shimmer with motion. Its golden seed plumes appear in late summer, supporting birds and native pollinators while offering a sculptural element that endures year-round.
